Water Country, Richmond and Beyond

On Thursday Alex and I packed up the Expedition and headed to Water Country USA :] The first two slides I went down I thought I was going to puke (I have developed a motion sickness issue!). I pushed through it and ended up getting used to it and had a blast! I don't know that I have ever had that much fun all packed into 5 hours. We rode every ride several times. One ride in particular was terrifying and it is where you get on a sled at the top of the slide and they just let you go and tada you somehow survive. It looks terrifying and it IS terrifying!

After all of that excitement we traveled further South and stayed with my sister for the night. We went to a Flying Squirrels baseball game. This is the Squirrels first season in Richmond, last year they were the Richmond Braves. The game was almost sold out. It was pretty awesome.

The next day we left at 10am and stopped in Williamsburg to eat at Cracker Barrel. After that we got back on 64 but it was a parking lot so we got off the next exit and took the more rural route 60. Along the way we found several cute towns one of which we stopped in (can't remember the name). We stopped at this consignment shop called "Act II" It was huge and amazing. It was very clean (like Benjamins in Salisbury), and was reasonably priced. I tried on a pair of Kate Spade shoes that were $150 but they were reduced half price. I really had to resist the urge to buy them! They also had a ton of Lily Pulitzer marked very cheap. I found a dress for $38. I ended up buying a pair of Blue Dragon polka dotted and rainbow mules with a slight heal on sale for $33. They are so fabulous and I can't wait to wear them!!! I really loved that shop. It was everything a consignment shop should be and MORE. Then after that we were about to get in the car and I noticed there was an antique store next door...and you know I wasn't going to pass that up. After walking in and getting slapped in the face with an initial lingering funk it was a really cool store! The antique store was once an old bank and they kept it looking like a bank! It was full of vintage clothing, hats, purses, jewelry, some furniture, some oddball things, but mostly fashion related stuff. It was very cool. I didn't buy anything but really seeing all of the neat stuff. After that we went furniture shopping at "The Dump" which is like "That" furniture store in Salisbury. All showroom samples, overage stuff, things that didn't sell, etc... They had alot of neat furniture.

And once we were back on the Shore we stopped to eat, yet once again, at our favorite Mexican place El Maguey.

That concludes our too short trip! Have a FANTASTIC 4TH OF JULY!!!

  1. I can't wait for you to come and go shopping with us...there must be 50 consignment shops here. And the inventory is beyond!
Raleigh found a Lois V bag the other day that was as big as my big red bag for $100, but I didn't have my wallet. When we went back it was gone.
I have found dozens of vintage silk button up short sleeve shirts for Billy for 2 and 3 bucks, they are perfect for here. They are so breathable.
Speaking of water parks we got a season pass to Knott's Berry Farm that includes the one in Anahiem and the Water Park here. We've (Grayson and I) been going about once or twice a week, and they have a ride that spits you out into what looks like a gianormous toilet bowl laying on it's side...it is the most fun ever!
