your truly my friend if you read all of this haha

Today I went and bought my spring flowers! i bought some kind of flowering vine for my hanging basket, petunias to put in my old rainboots turned into a flower pot, another huge petunia to put in my old bicycle flower pot, and i planted a few petunias by the dog pen. I also got a tomato and pepper plant but haven't found the time to plant them yet. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice out so I will cut the grass and finish my gardening.

After school ends and my yard is near perfection I plan to start over at 510 in Pocomoke. I gotta clear the yard of all the leftover auction junk. Then I am going to trim up some bushes, spray some roundup, and get that garden under control somewhat. I may not have any control on the inside of the house but I plan to keep the outside looking nice.

Last year I did an obscene amount of yard work and I have found that this year I have had to do hardly any. I guess because I got everything under control last year. I am glad that keeping my yard looking nice isn't going to be as daunting as it has been because I was unsure if I could do that every year!

I really hope everything works out with 510 and that Alex has the energy and the know-how to do all the repairs. I definitely have some great ideas for this house. Alex and I decided we were going to splurge on a nice comfy couch and he agreed with me that a leopard sofa would be awesome!!! I also have a palm tree that is touching the ceiling in my current house so in the new house it will have plenty more room to grow!

Today I presented my China presentation. I think it went really well. After the presentation the teacher came up to me and asked what was going on with my finger and I said I was engaged and she goes "status symbol" haha. she is from Swaziland in Africa and I don't think that is a big deal there. She is a neat teacher. I actually really like all of my teachers. All of them are brilliant and most of them are young and fun to be around. I really am going to miss the people at UMES after I graduate. I really have enjoyed my time there and am glad that I chose a historically black college after all.

destination wedding

Alex and I are thinking of doing a destination wedding. As for anything I am going to make a pro and con list:

Pro's
-put the money towards a week long adventure as opposed to a 4 hour wedding
-vacation for the whole family!
-be able to buy the Betsey Johnson dress I want as opposed to a wedding dress I would never wear again
-save on alot of work, invitations, setup, dj, cater, etc...

Con's
-you only get married once so why not have a big extravaganza
-less potential presents...which isn't a big deal because there isn't a thing in the world that we really NEED
-having family there on honeymoon...even though Im hoping everyone would leave the day after the actual ceremony...haha

AHHH I dont freakin know. Mom really wants me to do a destination wedding but I am afraid I may be disapointed by not actually doing the whole huge process of getting married. Maybe after I look at a few venues I will have a better idea of what I want because right now the only thing I KNOW is that I am wearing red Betsey Johnson stilletoes with rhinestones across the front :] More reason to have a short wedding dress to show them puppies off haha.

yes more good news :] haha

well today Alex and I signed on the house! His parents lived there for 23 years and they are going west. Its a 4 bedroom, 1 and a half bath, 2 story house. Its a historic federal style house thats yellow with black shutters. Oh and it has clouds painted on the ceilings :] Oh and the cutest screen door you could ever imagine for the front door. It has an amazing backyard with a hot tub nestled right in the back and the neighbors JUST put up a fence so they don't have to see what goes on in that hottub. bahaha. Anyhow alot of work needs to be done on the inside so in the mean time we aren't going anywhere, but after this house is all done it will pretty much be my dream house.

Its funny because a week ago from tonight Alex and I were sobbing because we thought it was going to be sold and it did sell...to US haha.

one thing off the list...

Today I wrote up the guest list! I know what your thinking...Jamie you haven't been engaged for 5 days yet and you've done the guest list?! but yes, I have. You know how I am, I will have this whole wedding planned in 2 months time haha.

So the approximate count is almost 100 so far. Alex still has to look at it but I included every family member of his I could think of and family friends, his friends etc...I guess after he looks at it I will give it to his mom and my mom to see if there is anybody else they can think of.

I wanted to look at some venues this summer and I can't look at venues without knowing an approximate number so I thought it would be a good idea to get that out of the way.

In other news, tonight I finished another big presentation on China. I haven't given the presentation yet but I completed the powerpoint. It is going to be neat, my group is wearing traditional kimonos, serving chicken fried rice, green tea, and giving them chopsticks (the nice washable kind) to keep. We are also celebrating the classroom big time. Hanging lanterns, decorating the walls, we have those parasol umbrellas to sit around. Should be interesting. Maybe all that decoration will distract people from the crappy presentation! haha

Tomorrow I am going to a Relay For Life fashion show at UMES then I am meeting Alex in Berlin to go get my ring made!!!!

Friday Jess is coming home and Saturday we are going to Seacrets to see a band we like for happy hour! Then on Sunday is the bbq. so that is my week in a nutshell.

cloud 9

Well, I think I have reached cloud 9! This has been the craziest 24 hours of my life. I woke up this morning and searched my night stand for the ring to make sure yesterday wasn't a dream!! And honestly it IS a dream, I couldn't have wrote this love story any better than God has and is.

For those of you that have asked, we are going to get the ring re-sized on monday so after I get it back I will post a picture. It is very me and its special because it was his moms and she wanted me to have it. He is lucky to have such a great family and I am lucky to become apart of it!

ok i really need to go back to reality and do some homework....

mrs alexander margeaux patrick james burke von hoffman

Well I told myself I definitely needed to do a blog today to commemorate this grand day in alex and my life. Here is the story: Alex's family is auctioning off BOTH of their houses in Pocomoke and moving out of town. So all day long everybody was busy hauling stuff out of the house, cleaning the house, deciding what to sell, what to save, it was just complete mayhem. In the midst of all this crazyness Alex pulled me in the backyard (which is one of his favorite places and it means alot to him) and he got on one knee and asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes. Then he told me that he was really going to miss the house and he wanted his last memories of the back yard to be happy ones...and there we were.

So tonight he went to work and I went to walmart and bought wedding magazines and a ring cozy so I can wear the ring until it gets sized for my finger!

And now is just the beginning, guest lists, venues, cakes, dresses, cater's, photographers, dj's/bands, invitations. wow. glad my bridal party is HUGE haha.

Anyhow have a great weekend everyone!

oink oink

ok im having a breakdown. i think i have let the fat win. i am 5'4" and 135 pounds!!!! this is the most i've ever weighed in my whole life. 3 years ago when i first started dating alex i was 5'4" and 110 pounds. yea do the math. I have given away all my skinny clothes and not been excercising at ALL. I tried on my bathing suit tonight and all i have to say is i won't be going to any public beaches this summer.

So what can I do? Here is my plan: I am not eating past 7pm (because I go to bed around 10). No more huge meal for lunch and dinner. And I might actually get on that bike every now and again. That doesn't sound like much but if I make some huge plan I will never stick to it! haha. Oh and Jess and I were talking and I may need to give up rum :[ Tequila and Vodka it is...haha

Im in the prime of my life and I am not letting this addiction get to me!!!! Plus it makes me sad to give away all my cute clothes.

OH I forgot to mention the kicker. Alex has been doing roofing everyday the past month and he has these huge muscles out of no where. and his stomach is flatter. i hate men.

summer checklist

OMG I do not have time for this blog haha. I keep counting on blogging more this summer. Speaking of summer I am going to make a checklist of things I need/want to do this summer:

-go to the dentist
-go to the doctor ( I put these things off all year)
-complete 200 hours of my internship
-finish essay for internship
-go to Ben and Carrie, Gabi and Chads, and Matt and Missys wedding.
-Visit Jess a few times
-Visit Richmond
-maybe visit Alex's family in Wyoming if they stay for the summer

baby names

bahaha i can already see peoples eyes bugging out over this title. Ok I am a girl and I am pretty sure EVERY girl picks out baby names from the time they are 5. Anybody that knows me knows that I really can't deal with kids. Even my own niece and nephew I don't know how to talk to or how to play with. I am kid challenged. One cool part about having kids is NAMING the kid. So here are my kid names that I am officially claiming. One time when I was a kid I told my friend I was going to get a guinea pig and name it petunia and damn if that bitch didn't get a guinea pig and name it petunia the next week. So thats why I am laying claim:

Girls:

Jazmine or Jasmine (this is an absolute definite.)

Jillian (although alex is strongly against this)

Stella

Eloise (another one i really really really like)

Boys:

Oliver (poor kid)

Oscar :] bahaha

Sebastian (gay?? idk i like it haha)

Honestly I really like Alexander but how many of us Alexanders does there really need to be? haha

knockout or knockoff?

The fashion industry loses 9.2 million dollars due to knockoffs.

That BLOWS my mind. That costs alot of jobs annually I am sure. When people buy knockoffs it not only affects the designer who is crazy rich but it affects his or her employees more than anything. When the brand takes a hit then the company reduces costs wherever they see fit.

moral of the story? Don't be fake. If you can't afford to wear Chanel then DON"T!!

busy little bee

WOW I don't even know where to start. I am so incredibly busy I have no time to blog. I am lucky if my animals are even getting fed on a day to day basis!! I promise that in May when school is over I will pick up on this blogging where I left off. I am in the middle of writing 3 papers, doing 2 projects, and 2 powerpoints. They are very time consuming! Anyhow summer cannot come soon enough. How I long for the day when I can get up and say AHHH I don't have squat to do for the next 4 days!!!!! Ok guys I am off to finish my first paper and I will see all you lovely bloggers (Jessica and Wilson) in May :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEST FRIIIEND

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS!

Today is my best buddies birthday so we are celebrating by going to our bar. haha Seacrets. As Jamie from Baltimore would say, "welcome to my bar". This is a very special birthday because this is the first one that shes got to spend with me since before college. Ok so its special to me, idk if she gives a flying crap haha.

On another note remember those "Barbie Basics" dolls that I blogged about back in February? WELL I just found out today that they were designed by a team of fashion designers one of them being BETSEY JOHNSON. So, needless to say I am getting the one she designed. :D

Tomorrow I am having a party at my house at 7 for Jess' birthday! Be there or be square :D
